Karmic Global founder and CEO Kristin Veriga is participating in the third edition of the AgriNext Awards & Conference, taking place in Dubai on 21 October 2026. The event brings together agricultural leaders, researchers, policymakers and technology innovators to explore solutions for a more sustainable and resilient global food system.
Held at the Crowne Plaza Dubai — Deira, the conference focuses on the technologies and practices reshaping agriculture, from biotechnology and precision farming to regenerative agriculture, resource efficiency and food security.
Biotechnology and the future of crops
Kristin joins the panel “The Role of Biotech in Shaping the Future of Crops”, exploring how biotechnology can support agricultural productivity, crop resilience and more sustainable growing practices.
For Karmic, these questions are central to its work. The company is developing ways to transform underutilised seafood-processing by-products into valuable bio-based materials, including chitosan-based solutions for crop protection and food preservation.
This circular approach connects two traditionally separate parts of the food system: recovering value from material that might otherwise go to waste and using it to help protect crops, improve productivity and reduce food losses.
As Kristin highlighted ahead of the conference, the challenge is not simply how to produce more food, but how to make better use of what we already produce.
“How do we lose less and protect more of the food we already produce? How do we boost output without increasing inputs?”
Building climate-resilient food systems
Kristin is also moderating the panel “Sustainable Farming Practices for a Climate-Resilient Future”, bringing together industry perspectives on regenerative agriculture, soil health and carbon sequestration strategies.
Both discussions reflect a broader shift in agricultural innovation: moving beyond increasing production alone towards improving resource efficiency, protecting existing yields and building resilience throughout the food value chain.
For Karmic, participation in AgriNext provides an opportunity to contribute to that conversation and highlight the potential of circular biotechnology to address challenges across agriculture and food production.
